Las Vegas continues to change every day getting bigger and splashier. If you take a look around you would probably see that the casino you played in on your last trip is different or it might not even be there depending on the last time you visited.
To see old Vegas some tourists head to the Fremont district to see the casino’s that are still lit up by thousands of bulbs instead of a enormous big screen flashing the casino’s name. But most stay on the strip as the fun there never stops while Fremont’s casinos tend to get really quiet around 11pm to 12am.
If you have never walked Las Vegas Blvd. you probably have no idea how long it can take you to walk from one casino to the next, especially when it’s 3am and still 90 degrees outside. This is one of the reasons that people tend to find a favorite and stay there or pay lots of cab fare.
So to become your favorite place to gamble, Las Vegas casino’s constantly make changes to their games, entertainment, food and more. They might add more slots, create a better buffet, add more poker tables, etc. to get gambler’s attention.
The Excalibur Casino in Las Vegas is redoing their poker room to become the first casino in Las Vegas to have a completely electronic poker room. They are going to remodel their poker room and say out with the old tables and in with new electronic tables.
The electric tables will have computer screens, instead of dealers, cards and chips. There is one large screen in the middle of the table where the cards are dealt and the amount of the pot. There will be smaller touch screens in front of each player so they can see their hole cards and place bets, similar to online poker.
The new electronic poker room in Excalibur will be opening it’s doors on August 21st. There is concern as to what will happen to the poker dealers as some have worked there since the Excalibur opened in 1990.
“Experienced poker players want to play poker with real tables and real poker cards and real chips. But Excalibur has always had a reputation of being a poker room that was geared to novice poker players or beginner poker players and they really carved out a niche in the Las Vegas poker landscape for catering to beginner players,” said Clark Walton, Allvegaspoker.com.
