According to a recent report by PokerNews, another United States online poker site has shut its doors. US poker players have had a hard time finding a site to enjoy online poker over the past few years and now there is one less option to consider. Online poker room FeltStars.com has now shut its doors to their customers as of this week and no explanation for the closure has been given.
Players currently playing at FeltStars can now move their funds to any of the other 70 skins at the Merge Gaming Network. Players who were part of the site received an email from Merge Network this week, by the support team, which read:
“The entire FeltStars Team would like to thank all of our loyal players for at the years you have played poker on FeltStars. We are saddened to announce that we will be leaving online poker an no longer offer these services on our website.”
The email told players to create an account at another Merge skin and then email support staff to be able to transfer their funds. Players who already have an account at another Merge Gaming Network will need to email support at Merge Gaming and then give support the account information so they can make the transfer.
Chris “Fox” Wallace, a former sponsored pro at FeltStars, commented at the online poker room on his blog at PokerXFactor.com, by stating: “Getting paid was impossible, all kinds of shady things popped up about the site in the past, and I couldn’t get anything done.” Other players who were part of the team at FeltStars were: Andres Pereyra, Matt Brady, Matt Perrins and Christina Lindley, who have yet to comment on the closure.
It will be interesting to see if additional information will be released in the closing of FeltStars or if the site will simply disappear. A forum on TwoPlusTwo has popped up that states players have had a hard time contacting service personnel so it we may see a tough situation arising for players who need to cash out at the site.
