Just a few days ago, poker pro Viktor Blom decided to challenge fellow poker player Tom Dwan to a heads-up poker challenge. The two have battled at the high stakes tables before and this time, the stakes are just as high. The two will compete this Sunday at Full Tilt Poker in a $100,000 No Limit Hold’em, winner take all, challenge.
It has been reported that Blom called Dwan out on Twitter, stating he has seen Dwan play a lot of 2-7 and other games but what about NLHE. Blom said he wanted to play the variant with Dwan. Today, Blom posted that ‘the poker gods’ and Full Tilt Poker had answered his tweets. Dwan had accepted the challenge and the two will be playing this Sunday.
The challenge will take place this Sunday at 3pm ET and the players will be competing across four heads-up no limit hold’em tables until only one player is left standing. Fans and fellow Full Tilt Poker players can hit the rail at Full Tilt Poker and watch the action by searching for Dwan with his screen name ‘durrr’ or Blom with ‘Isildur1’.
Now both Dwan and Blom have faced over before in 2009 at Full Tilt Poker and now the two are both members of Full Tilt Poker’s team of pros titled The Professionals. This makes one wonder if the ‘challenge’ was really the idea of Blom ‘all of a sudden’ or did Full Tilt fandangle this whole deal so they could bring in players and a little excitement.
Either way, players are still interested to see which pro can take down the other. The action is always exciting when two top pros hit the felt in high stakes action. The two will battle it out this Sunday and once the cards have cleared we will bring you the details as to who was able to come out on top!
