Blackjack is the most popular casino card game. It’s easy to learn, you can make money playing blackjack if you’re good and you get the option to play blackjack as a community or one-on-one game.
Blackjack is just as popular online as it is live, too. In fact, you won’t find a casino that doesn’t at least offer a traditional game of 21. And most online casinos offer a variation or two of blackjack, too. So you won’t have a problem finding a blackjack site.
However, the key to a great experience is finding the best blackjack site. I explain how to do that below.
How to Find the Best Blackjack Websites
Trust, Reputation and Fair Games Should Be a Given
I won’t say much here. First and foremost, you should only sign-up to sites that are in good standing. That means casinos that pay their players, run fair (and tested) games and have helpful support. You can be sure that if a casino fails in any of these areas, you won’t be happy playing there in the long run.
You Can Play Several Variations of 21
I would guess that if you like standard blackjack, that you would like a blackjack variation, too, such as spanish or european blackjack.
So I think that the absolute best blackjack sites will offer more than one variation of 21. This could be spanish 21, maybe blackjack sit and go’s or even live dealer blackjack.
One thing worth pointing out, though, is that some variations are hard to come by. Spanish 21 is a good example — only one or two (worthy) sites offer it. So your standards may have to come down a little if you truly want to play those games online.
Blackjack Friendly Bonuses
This is going to be tough. Few online casinos allow you to earn their deposit bonus while playing blackjack. That’s what I mean by “blackjack friendly.” Most casinos exclude it, and if you play one game that counts and then play blackjack, you run the risk of voiding your bonus money, as well as your winnings.
There are two different kinds of “blackjack friendly” bonuses. The first one is the most common. Instead of excluding blackjack completely, the casino will handicap it. For example, say every $1 you spend earns you 5 points towards your bonus. The casino will handicap blackjack to where you only earn 2 points for every $1 you spend. So you’ll need to spend/play 2.5x as much to earn the same bonus.
Blackjack-Exclusive Bonuses
The second kind of blackjack friendly bonus is just like a regular deposit bonus. You can only receive and clear the bonus playing blackjack. Keep in mind that the clearing requirements will still be tougher compared to deposit bonuses for slots or keno players.
Is the Software Compatible?
Compatible software is becoming less of an issue nowadays. What you want to do is make sure the blackjack games you want to play will be compatible on your computer, tablet or phone.
Mac users will (usually) have 1 of 2 options — either a full download or the instant games variation that can be played from your browser. The full download will be the better version in terms of game variety and graphics. The browser version will have fewer options, but you don’t have to download it to your computer to play. That gives you the ability to play from any computer so long as you have internet access.
If you want to play blackjack on your tablet or phone, you’ll need to check to see if the casino has a download (app) or individual games they can send to you. You can find this information on our reviews, or on the casinos download or mobile page.
Does the Casino Run Additional Promotions?
Do they? The more opportunities you have to earn free money, spins or improved services, the better.
VIP programs are the first place I like to start when it comes to blackjack. I would look for a casino that offers you points that you can use to buy things or earn cashback, or a casino that just gives you cashback based on the amount of money you spent playing blackjack.
Reload bonuses are good, too. However, they’re no different than normal deposit bonuses — not every bonus is blackjack friendly.
The Best Blackjack Casinos Have Plenty of Deposit Options
Banking is very important. The casino needs to have options that you can use for both making a deposit and a withdrawal.
Deposits usually aren’t a problem. Casinos tend to have 5-10 options at minimum, and as many as 30+. It’ll depend on what country you’re from.
Americans may have a problem though, since there are only a handful of options available. And options like credit/debit cards are more prone to being declined for obvious (legal) reasons. So if you’re an American player you’ll want to make sure the casino has at least 2, if not 3 deposit options you can use.
When it comes to withdrawals I look at the fees. Are there fee? How much are they? Is there a fee-free withdrawal option? You should also look at processing times. Waiting a week for a check is ok. Waiting 2-3 months is not.
Is the Casino US Friendly?
I live in the US. If you do, too, then finding a casino that accepts players from America is important. This is pretty easy to figure out. Just use the tables and reviews on our site. We mark which ones accept US players. You can also check out the site — they’ll say whether they accept US players or not on their homepage, terms and conditions or you can contact their support and they’ll tell you.
