Anyone who has been following the online gambling market in the United States knows that Nevada, Delaware and New Jersey are at the forefront. We know that all three states are considering working together so that the player pools will be larger and of course this would be better for the smaller populated states such as Delaware. According to a recent report by the Las Vegas Sun, the Governor of Nevada recently spoke with his counterpart in Delaware about working together in the industry.
According to the report, Brian Sandoval, the Governor of Nevada, discussed online poker opportunities for Nevada in the state of Delaware with Governor Jack Markell. Sandoval stated that the discussion was positive but the industry should not expect anything to happen just yet. It was on October 25th, that the Gaming Commission of Nevada decided to create regulation that would give the Governor the push to try and create compacts with other operating states.
Sandoval stated that Delaware is the only state that has gone live that would actually be open to working with Nevada but officials in the state would like to see what the experience is going to be in Delaware before making any final decisions to work with the state. If Nevada does decide to work with Delaware, they would be providing WSOP.com and Ultimate Poker as poker gaming in the state.
Just a few days ago, Delaware went live with online gambling options, not just online poker like the state of Nevada.
