Legalized online poker revenues in the United States seem to be slumping with figures in each state offering the activity being less than stellar numbers. In New Jersey, online poker revenues have increased from February to March with monthly earnings increasing from just over $2.04 million to $2,227,629. The figures were released earlier in the week and show a nice increase month over month in iPoker for the state.
When comparing March of this year to March of 2014, the numbers do vary. In 2014, the amount earned was $3,210,663 which is much more than the $2.2 million+ earned this year. In a year to date summary, the online poker revenues were at just over $6.5 million which is much less than the $9.7 million earned during January to March of last year.
New Jersey Championship of Online Poker
While revenues may be in a slump, there are events taking place that should help the state bring in additional revenues. In addition to the World Poker Tour also making its annual stop at the Borgata for Borgata Spring Poker Open, the NJCOP has recently started.
On April 16th, Party Poker launched the aforementioned the New Jersey Championship of Online Poker, which will run until April 26th. This series will feature a wide variety of poker tournaments will offer at least $1 million in GUARANTEED prize money. However, early estimates suggest it should shatter that number easily, boding well for future NJCOP events!
Series such as the NJCOP help to bring players online and boost monthly revenues. With 35 events on the schedule, players will have plenty of opportunity to log online and take part in affordable options with guaranteed prize pools. Buy-ins range from $50 to $1,000, making the events affordable for low limit to high limit players.

WPT Championship and Borgata Spring Poker Open
The World Poker Tour World Championship as well as the Borgata Spring Poker Open will take place at the exact same time as the NJCOP II, which will further increase the number of players competing. Pros and amateurs will not be able to stay offline, with so many tournaments to take part in!
The Borgata and Party Poker have teamed up to make participation in online events even easier. Players who are partaking in live game play can also make deposits for online tournaments via the cashier cage at the Borgata. So, once a land-based tournament is complete, make a deposit and head online to take part in any number of online tournaments of the NJCOP II!
It will be interesting to see the totals for April once the month is complete. The NJCOP II along with the live events scheduled for the state should bring in a nice steady stream of traffic to help boost revenues in the state, at least for the month of April!
