The state of Delaware seems to have benefited greatly from the recent partnership with the state of Nevada to share online poker player pools. Since February, the site has seen two months of consistent growth, gaining new registrations and an increase in overall online poker revenues. The state saw an increase of 25% in February only to increase an additional 26% for March in online poker gaming revenues.
Earning the most revenues in a ten month time frame, the state of Delaware’s three gaming facilities are doing quite well when it comes to online poker gaming. The totals are by no means gargantuan when compared to New Jersey, but are quite well for the state with the small population. In February, the state managed to earn $34,526 with online poker while March saw a total of $43,636 earned with iPoker gaming.
The increase from February to March is most likely due to the shared player pools with Nevada which began on the 24th of March. The state’s share player liquidity for poker gaming on one network, the Multi State Poker Network, which provides access to players from Delaware to Nevada sites and vice versa.
The most popular gaming site in Delaware seems to be the option by Delaware Park. $31,555 was earned by Delaware Park which consists of over 70% of the online poker gaming. Dover Downs came in second at $7,868 in gaming revenues with Harrington Raceway at $4,212 for the month.
The Multi State Poker Network was only operational for one week for the latest totals from Delaware, so we should see a much larger increase for the month of April. The WSOP.com site is located in Nevada, which is going to be a big draw for players to take part in. As the months continue, we will be able to see if the shared player pooling is the driving force behind the increase in earnings for Delaware.
