Over the past few years, we have continued to update our readers on the latest information in regards to the Full Tilt Poker remission process. The Garden City Group has been in charge as the claims administrator, providing information for players to file claims as well as receive payment. It was back in March that the GCG announced the next round of payments, with 3,500 players to be sent payment totaling around $2.8 million. It has now been announced via the Poker Players Alliance that the next round of payments will take place by August.
According to a report at PocketFives, John Pappas, the Executive Director of the PPA, is reporting that the next set of payments will be sent by the end of August. During this wave of payments, 2,000 petitions will be completed with $4 million payments made.
On Tuesday Pappas spoke with PocketFives and stated that the current set of petitions under review includes petitions who disputed their petition due to incomplete withdrawal that has been matched to Full Tilt info as well as petitioners who filed a petition without login details that were matched to their FTP gaming account. The match was completed via a balance or falling within the de minimus thresholds that were identified by the Department of Justice. A small portion of pro players will also be paid who were able to provide accurate documentation.
Players who were able to provide updated information of their petition and confirmed balance details may also be a part of this payment wave. The refunds could be sent before the end of August but no later than this time frame. The audit for this payment round has been completed and the GCG must receive the go ahead from the Department of Justice as well as the US Treasury and the Southern District of New York before being able to go ahead with the payments.
