PokerStars to Celebrate 10th Anniversary of Sunday Million This March

PokerStars has been a hot topic over the past few months, ranging the spectrum from player boycotts due to VIP changes to a possible acquisition by David Baazov of Amaya Gaming. In most recent news, PokerStars is getting ready to celebrate the 10^th anniversary of the Sunday Million, preparing to offer $10 million guaranteed prize money on the special day.

On March 20^th, PokerStars will be offering the anniversary special Sunday Million and will have $10 million up for grabs with a buy-in of just $215. Players will have the option to reenter as many as three times, something that has never been done before. PokerStars is offering so many reentries per player to try and boost the prize pool.

Players can pay the full $215 buy-in to compete or take part in satellites at a smaller cost or freerolls at no cost at all. The online poker room will be offering such competitions until the day of the tournament so everyone can take part. To get started, PokerStars is offering several Hyper-Turbo freerolls which will take place each Saturday beginning on the 13^th of February and running until the 19^th of March. Players will compete for 200 seats, in each freeroll, to be able to move on to the Sunday Million for free. To be eligible, players have to deposit $20 or more using a special code provided by PokerStars website.

Cash satellites will also be running at PokerStars with options to pay just $1 to compete. One of six special events will be offered with VIP Bash satellites in the mix, starting the 22^nd of February and offered every Sunday until March 19^th. The first three satellites will provide 50 entries to the Sunday Million while the last will provide 100 seats.

The first Sunday Million of PokerStars was held back in 2006 on March 5^th. With 5,893 players competing, the prize pool reached just over $1.1 million. The upcoming 10^th Anniversary Sunday Million is sure to see even more competitors and an amazing amount of cash up for grabs!
