By the end of the month, the Microgaming Poker Network will be making changes to their Sit-and-Go gaming offerings. The network will be making the changes so gaming options will be easier to locate as well as create a more enjoyable experience for players. Late last week, Alex Scott, the Head of Poker for Microgaming, gave details on the changes via a company blog post.
In the post, Scott stated that the network has realized the tournament offerings at MPN are confusing, both SNG and scheduled options. Basically, due to the many different types of tournaments. Back in 2014, the tournaments were changed for easier understanding of tournament type but the SNGs were not changed, making finding the right tournament per player difficult. Certain terms did not mean the same thing based on tournament type.
One of the changes set to happen at MPN is that a parallel will be created between the scheduled tournaments and the Sit and Gos. Players will find Turbo and Regular SNGs will have 2,000 starting chips instead of the former 1,500. Super Turbo SNGs will have 500 starting chips.
During the Turbo events, players will have 18 seconds to make a decision instead of 15. 30 seconds is given in the time bank rather than 15. Levels will last 6 minutes, one minute longer than before. For Super Turbo events, players will have 18 seconds to act as well, 15 seconds of time bank instead of 15 and levels will be three minutes long, up one minute than before.
Double Up Sit and Go’s will have the rake raised to try and weed out colluding players, accruing to Scott, with the fees increased by 15% on most stakes and 20% on the lowest three stakes. Most of the fees for SNGs will go down, including Heads-Up, Super Turbo and Turbo. MPN will also be introducing multi-table SNGs and Super Bounty SNGs on a trial basis. Other formats will be introduced with two options to see which is more popular.
