Spin & Go tournaments have proven to be very popular at PokerStars with players logging on frequently to take part in the hyper-turbo format. Fans of the Spin & Go option will be happy to hear that PokerStars has now launched an Omaha version. A press release was sent out by the online poker giant yesterday to make the announcement, now providing Spin & Go tournament gaming in the second most popular poker variant.
Players of PokerStars will find the new Omaha Spin & Go tournaments will offer the same format as the No Limit Hold’em version. Three players will compete for a the top prize with the Winner Takes All approach. The difference in the Omaha version is that the highest prize tiers will see all players get a minimum of 10% of the first place prize.
Payouts for the Omaha version will range from 2 to 10,000 times the initial buy-in. The $1 Omaha Spin & Go will have a first place prize that will range from $2 to $10,000. Buy-ins will be set at $1, $3, $7 and $15. With the highest buy-in of $15, players have the ability to see a top prize of $150,000.
According to Director of Poker Operations at PokerStars, Severin Rasset, the game of Omaha was high on the request list for variants to be added to Spin & Go and the new option will have an added incentive. Rasset stated in the press release: “Omaha is a highly enjoyable poker variant and was quite high up on our players’ request list to deliver it as a Spin & Go. The icing on the cake for players is that these Spin & Go’s will be an exclusive qualifier into our SCOOP Event 5.”
Team PokerStars Pro Lex Veldhuis weighed in on the new option as well stating that Omaha is perfect for Spin & Go. According to Veldhuis, the option will provide a lot of action as players have the ability to play many hands and it is hard to knock people out in PLO.
