The state of New Jersey has been pretty successful when it comes to online poker gaming. The state already offers such operators as PokerStars when it comes to iPoker and now a new site has launched. On Tuesday, Pala Poker NJ went live, making it the fourth poker network to be operational in New Jersey.
No official announcement was made by the brand but the site is up and running. Operating under the online gambling license of the Borgata Casino, Pala Poker functions as a standalone online poker room with unique software customized for the site. It seems the site going live is a soft launch of sorts to ensure everything is working properly.
The online poker site was created by Pala Interactive, an online gaming company founded by the Pala Band of Mission Indians, the owner and operator of the Pala Casino Spa and Resort located in Southern California. When visiting the online poker room, you can see how to get started, have access to a welcome bonus, promotions, tournaments, rewards, etc.
The site does have a large banner that shows they are legal and authorized to operate in New Jersey with licensing and regulations provided by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement. Players who enjoy this online poker room as well as other online poker and casino gaming sites in the state have to be physically located within the borders of New Jersey in order to be allowed access.
The online poker site appears to offer a download version of the gaming software as well as an in-browser option and mobile capabilities. The mobile option is open to iOS and Android devices.
It will be interesting to see if more info is made available on this launch in the coming days or weeks. On the Pala Poker Facebook page, a first look of the site was provided on June 5th and on the 6th, a post stated that the Beta launch was in effect and players could download or play in browser.
