Every year, the L.A. Poker Classic is a much-anticipated poker series hosted by the Commerce Casino in California. The 2018 version is set to start next week on January 9th and continue until March 1st. A total of 64 events are on the schedule with this year’s L.A. Poker Classic set to be bigger than ever as the series celebrates its 25th anniversary.
The schedule is split evenly with 32 mixed game events and 32 no-limit hold’em tournaments. Each event is different, offering a nice variation in buy-in, format and structure. Players can compete in any event and enjoy something new each time. The L.A. Poker Classic begins on the 9th with the first event being the $350 No Limit Hold’em Tournament. The event offers a $1 million guarantee with players given 25,000 in starting chips.
Events are pretty affordable with mega satellites starting at $50. The actual tournament events have buy-ins starting at $175. There is something on the schedule for high rollers as well, including a No-Limit Hold’em event with a $5,250 buy-in or Pot Limit Omaha and No Limit Hold’em events with $2,140 buy-ins. On February 26th, the schedule includes a $25,000 high roller event.
