Partypoker Adds Cash to Sunday Guarantees as Apology for Recent Connection Issues

On March 4^th, online poker players of partypoker were subject to connection issues during the last day of the KO Series. The top-rated online poker provider took quick action to make things right with players who were affected, offering boosted guarantees this Sunday and a KO tournament the very same day, the same as one that was cancelled due to connection issues.

One of the partypoker servers malfunctioned on the 4^th at 8pm which lead to the final day of the KO series to be seriously interrupted. Many events were scheduled to take place during that time frame, including two events with $1m in guaranteed prize money. Once the tournaments were paused, the issue with the server could not be fixed. Management of the site decided to cancel the tournaments for that time frame and any that were scheduled for 9pm and 10pm.

To make up for the connection issues and cancellations, partypoker is offering tournaments and boosted guarantees this Sunday. On March 11^th, party will be provided a progressive knockout tournament with a $5,200 buy-in at 7pm GMT. This event will have a $1 million prize pool guarantee and will be replacing one of the KO Series events that was cancelled on the 4^th.

Party is also offering an increased prize pool guarantee for the $215 Super Sunday Bounty Hunter tournament. This event usually has a $200k guaranteed but this Sunday will feature $1m. The $55 Super Sunday Big Bounty Hunter will see an increase of $100k to the prize pool while the $11 Super Sunday Big Bounty Hunter will have $30,000 added. The smaller $2.20 Super Sunday Big Bounty Hunter event will have $15,000 added to the prize pool.

Three ladies’ events were cancelled during the KO Series on the 4^th, so party will be hosting three ladies’ bounty hunter events on the 11^th as well with, you guessed it, more money added to the guaranteed prize pools. In total, partypoker will be providing close to $2 million in additional prize money this Sunday. The brand has also identified the issue with the server problems, rectified the issue and implemented tighter procedures to ensure the problem does not happen again. Refunds are also being processed.
