The Cleveland Cavaliers will host the Indiana Pacers in game 7 of their opening round NBA Eastern Conference playoff series. The Pacers forced a game 7 by drubbing the Cavaliers, 121-87 in game 6. This will be the first time in Lebron James’ career that he has faced an elimination game in the opening round of the playoffs.
The Cavaliers came into this series searching for momentum and chemistry, and they haven’t had found much of either so far. The Pacers came into the playoffs extremely confident, and their confidence has allowed them to push the Cavaliers to the brink. The Cleveland Cavaliers will be -5.5 over the Indiana Pacers in game 7.

LeBron James and a Bunch of Question Marks
The Cleveland Cavaliers have yet to find anyone on their roster who can consistently support LeBron James. In their game 6 loss, the other 4 starters combined to score just 22 points while shooting 8-25. The Cavaliers won’t survive a game 7 unless someone on their roster steps up and helps LeBron James score points.
LeBron James has been tremendous throughout this series, but hasn’t been able to finish off the Pacers yet. In game 5, LeBron blocked a potential Pacers’ game winner, before nailing the eventual game winning 3 at the buzzer. James is averaging a near triple double in this series, but even those numbers might not be enough to hold off the Pacers. LeBron will need to have a heroic performance in game 7 if he is going to lead his team to victory.
Pacers Must Stop the King to Dethrone Him
It appeared as if the Pacers were going to steal game 5 in Cleveland, but King James had other ideas. James’ buzzer beating 3 pointer was a devastating blow to Indiana, but fortunately for them they were able to bounce back in game 6. The Pacers used their home court advantage to blow out the Cavaliers and force a game 7. Victor Oladipo was once again the offensive leader for the Pacers, scoring 28 points in the victory.
Lance Stephenson knows that his main job in game 7 will be trying to stop LeBron James. Lucily for Stephenson, he will have plenty of help from his Pacer teammates. The Pacers were terrific defensively in game 6, and must employ the same game plan and strategy if they are going to win the series.
LeBron Won’t Let the Cavs Fall
Indiana has looked just as good, if not better, than the Cavaliers for most of this series. The Pacers know that they have played well enough to already have had won 4 games. They are extremely confident heading into a game 7, and Oladipo is good enough to lead them to a victory. Lance Stephenson will be ready to do anything and everything to contain James on Sunday afternoon.
Cleveland is lucky that they are even playing in a game 7, but they have LeBron to thank for that. James has been able to overcome the shortcomings of his teammates and has given Cleveland a chance to defend home court and advance to the second round. The Pacers have the better team, but as long as LeBron plays for Cleveland, then his team has the upper hand. Look for LeBron James to score close to 50 points in leading the Cavs to victory.
