The Winnipeg Jets will host the Vegas Golden Knights in game 2 of their Western Conference Final playoff series on Monday night. The Jets lead the series 1-0 after defeating the Golden Knights 4-2 in the series opener. This series features two teams that have never appeared in the Conference Finals in their franchise history.
The Golden Knights had a week off between playoff series and they appeared to be rusty in the series opener. The Jets were playing game 1 less than 48 hours after knocking off the Nashville Predators, and they still had the momentum going. The Golden Knights are +125 against the Winnipeg Jets in game 2.

Jets Keep Pressure on Fleury
The Winnipeg Jets wasted little time in putting pressure on Vegas goalie, Marc-Andre Fleury in game 1. Dustin Byfuglien scored a goal just 1:05 into the game, and the Jets added two other goals in the first period. The Jets are an extremely deep team and all four of their offensive lines are capable of scoring goals.
On the other end of the ice, Jets goalie Connor Hellebuyck was able to stop 18 of the 20 shots that he faced in game 1. Winnipeg was able to play a puck possession game after taking a big lead, and the Knights had very limited scoring chances. The Jets hope to use the same strategy in game 2 to take a 2-0 series lead.
Golden Knights Must Respond
The Vegas Golden Knights appeared to show signs of rust in game 1, and now face their first playoff deficit of the 2018 playoffs. The Golden Knights must respond and play better in game 2, or this could be a short series for them. Marc-Andre Fleury has been the best goalie in these playoffs so far, but he got burnt early in game 1. Fleury must be solid in game 2 to set the tone for his team.
Offensively, the Golden Knights must find a way to get more scoring chances. Vegas only attempted 20 shots on goal in game 1, and were only able to capitalize on two of those shots. Look for Vegas center William Karlsson to be extra aggressive in game 2 to spark the Vegas offense.
Golden Knights Even the Series
These two teams are extremely even, and this should be a long and competitive series. The Jets were able to strike first in game 1, but the Golden Knights will have a response in game 2. Winnipeg hopes that its depth will be the deciding factor in this series, and will lean on this strength again in game 2.
The Golden Knights hope that they got rid of their rust in game 1, and can get back to playing great hockey in game 2. Vegas has the best goalie in the playoffs in Marc-Andre Fleury and he will step up for his team in game 2. The Golden Knights will quite the raucous Winnipeg crowd and will steal game 2 on the road. Bet the Vegas Golden Knights +125 over the Winnipeg Jets in game 2.
