The New York Mets visit Miller Park to take on the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday night. The game will start at 7:10 p.m. Central Time. The Mets are 25-21 in the year, good enough for 3rd place in the National League East division. They will look to make the division into a three horse race, and it has been a back and forth between the Phillies and the Braves so far, with New York sitting 3 games back. Milwaukee, on the other hand, has a somewhat comfortable 3 game lead over St. Louis in the National League Central.
For the Mets, Noah Syndergaard will get the starting nod. The right handed flamethrower is poised for another impressive season. He is 4-1 on the year, with a 2.91 ERA. He will look to hit the important 5 win mark in this contest. Junior Guerra will take the mound for Milwaukee, sporting an even 3-3 record and a similar 2.98 ERA. Guerra will look to have a winning record by the end of this one. The Mets are the favorite in this one: at -129.

New York Mets
The Mets have plenty of men that can hit the ball. One example is Juan Lagares. In 30 games, Lagares is hitting .339, while driving in 6. He hasn’t been hitting the ball extremely hard, but he has been consistent. Look for him to get on base as much as possible. One wild card in this game is Jose Bautista. Playing the role of the newcomer, his first three appearances saw him go 1 for 4, with his sole hit being a double. He also walked once. Bautista showed time and time again North of the border that he can be a game changing hitter. Look for him to try to bring a couple runs home in this important match up.
Noah Syndergaard will look to put up a good performance in this one as well. Look for him to try to start most at bats by challenging with his fastball. Getting ahead in the count is paramount for any pitcher.
Milwaukee Brewers
Tyler Saladino has been a surprise contributor for Milwaukee. After proving inept time and time again for the White Sox, he has exploded after joining Milwaukee. Since joining 11 games ago, he is hitting .364, driving in 6 and adding 3 homeruns. His ridiculous .800 slugging percentage means he will play a big role in driving runs in and also putting himself in scoring position. Look for Saladino to continue making an impact in this one.
Jesus Aguilar has been another consistent contributor for Milwaukee. Aguilar has driven in 23 runs while hitting .316 on the year. He has also gotten himself into scoring position quite a bit, having crossed the plate 21 times so far. Look for him to be a big factor in this one as well.
Brewers Top Mets
Nobody will debate that Syndergaard isn’t a great pitcher. However, this matchup will pit him against a very tough Brewer lineup. Look for the hot hitting Saladino to get the better of him. Saladino and Aguilar have been hitting the ball with power lately, so don’t look for them to stop now. All it would take is a good performance from somebody else in the lineup to turn this into a one sided affair. Take Milwaukee at +109.
