The Houston Rockets will host the Golden State Warriors in game 7 of the Western Conference Finals. The Warriors were able to stave off elimination in game 6, winning 115-86 to force the decisive game 7. This series is featuring the top two teams in the NBA and appeared to be headed to a game 7 since it began.
The Houston Rockets had the best home record in the NBA during the regular season, and will have the advantage in the decisive game. The Warriors are the defending champs, and they know how to finish a series. The health of both Chris Paul (Rockets) and Andre Iguodala (Warriors) is uncertain for game 7. The Golden State Warriors are -6.0 over the Rockets in game 7.

Warriors Get Hot in Game 6
The Warriors got off to a terrible start in game 6, and were trailing the Rockets by 17 points after the first quarter. It didn’t take long for the Warriors to erase the deficit, thanks to the hot shooting of both Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry. The “Splash Brothers” combined for 37 second half points while knocking down 14 combined three point shots for the game.
The loss of Andre Iguodala appeared to hurt the Warriors defense in games 4 and 5, but they found an answer in game 6. Golden State held the Rockets to just 25 second half points, including just 9 in the 4th quarter. The Warriors know that defense wins championships, and they will defend at a high level in game 7.
Harden Looks to Prove He’s Elite
James Harden has had a terrific NBA career, but has yet to prove that he can lead his team to an NBA Championship. The pressure got to Harden in game 6 and he committed a season high 9 turnovers in the blowout loss. Harden is arguably the best scorer in the NBA, but he must prove that he can lead his team in game 7.
The Rockets are uncertain about the status of Chris Paul for game 7, but it doesn’t look good. Eric Gordon will start game 7 if Paul isn’t able to go, and Gordon is a very capable scorer. Gordon went 4-4 from the three point line in the first quarter of game 6 and finished with 19 points. The Rockets must find scoring options other than Harden in order to win the series.
Houston Battles, Falls in Game 7
The Golden State Warriors know how to win on the road in the playoffs, and they won’t be daunted with playing in Houston. The Warriors must get off to a better start in game 7 if they want to win the game. The Warriors are the NBA’s best 3rd quarter team, but can’t rely on that in a win or go home game.
Houston did not compete in the second half in game 6, but they will be ready at home. The Rockets have had a tremendous season, and even without Paul will be able to battle the defending champs. Eventually, the Warriors will prove to be too much for the Rockets and will eventually secure a double digit win. Bet the Golden State Warriors -6.0 in game 7.
