The Milwaukee Brewers and Minnesota Twins will be wrapping up a three-game interleague series on Wednesday afternoon. The Brewers will be looking to complete the sweep, as they have defeated the Twins in the first two games of the series. Minnesota hopes to salvage the final game of this series, and of a long and difficult road trip.
The Twins were supposed to compete for a playoff spot in 2018, after making the playoffs last year. Minnesota finds themselves in third place in the American League Central, but trail the Cleveland Indians by over 10 games. The Brewers continue to lead the National League Central, but their lead over the Chicago Cubs is down to just one game. The line for the series finale is even.

Twins Fading Fast
The Twins had a miserable ending to the month of June, and July hasn’t started off much better for them. Minnesota is suffering through a stretch where they have won just 1 time in their last 8 outings, and have lost five straight games. The Twins have fallen to a season-worst 12 games below the .500 mark. If they are going to get back into the playoff race, they need to make a run soon.
Twins outfielder, Eddie Rosario, has been the offensive star for Minnesota this season. Rosario leads the Twins in nearly every offensive category, and his 101 hits place him near the top of the leaderboard in the American League. The Twins have been decimated by injuries all season long, but Rosario has played like a All-Star this season.
Milwaukee Tough To Beat At Home
The Milwaukee Brewers became the first National League team to 50 wins on Tuesday, and part of the reason has been their play at home. The Brewers are 26-17 at Miller Park this year, and look to stay hot with a win over the Twins on Wednesday. Milwaukee needs to continue winning to hold off the Chicago Cubs in the NL Central race.
The Brewers have some big name players on their roster, but a relatively unknown player has been great for them in 2018. First baseman, Jesus Aguilar, has burst onto the scene and is an absolute force in the middle of the Brewers order. Aguilar leads the team with 19 home runs and 55 runs batted in. If Milwaukee continues to get production from up and down their lineup, they just might be the team to beat in the National League.
Brewers Continue Dominance over Twins
The Twins can’t wait to see this difficult road trip end, but would love to take the final game over the Brewers on Wednesday. Minnesota will send their ace, Jose Berrios, to the mound in the series finale. Berrios is 8-6 with a 3.52 earned run average, and will look to improve those numbers Wednesday afternoon.
The Brewers just continue to win, and continue to have the best record in the National League. Milwaukee has some of the best bullpen arms in baseball, and they can shut the door on an opponent if given a lead. Look for Milwaukee to complete the series sweep on Wednesday.
