He stated that he had been grinding nonstop and that he had been thinking about an excuse to go on a break after a long time. In fact, during the previous World Series of Poker season, Zinno had one night off in total as he set his goals high – to win another tournament. Now that he won it, Zinno stated that it was the perfect excuse for a long and nice vacation which would be an award for his victory. He added that he had neglected a lot of things in his life in order to concentrate on poker.
This win was actually not the highest one by Anthony Zinno. In fact, it is the fifth largest as he already had two seven-figure wins. His first million was in the 2015 World Poker Tour L.A. Poker Classic and the exact number was $1,015,860. However, the summer of 2015 was also very fruitful for him as he won another $1,122,196 in the 2015 World Series of Poker Event #60: $25,000 PLO High Roller.
The other players that participated in the tournament and managed to get to the final table are also Bryan Piccioli ($237,808), Stephen Chidwick ($177,091), Jay Farber ($134,083), Xu Ming Qi ($101,195), Anton Wigg ($78,426), Dan Shak ($60,717), and Martin Jacobson ($48,068).
The most important part of the game was the heads up where Anthony Zinno and Ben Jones met. Jones had a slight advantage to Zinno but, as it turned out, this was the thing that decided the further play. During the last hand, Jones had an ace-king and Zinno, who had more chips than Jones had an ace-jack. The flop did not reveal much – in fact, it was a king-high flop and it almost seemed as if Jones is going to win. However, the totally unexpected thing happened when the turn and river turned into running jacks which made Zinno the ultimate winner.
Naturally, Zinno was also pretty shock by the event and how it turned out. He said that he was ready to lose the game as soon as the first king appeared on the flop and that he totally had not expected that the cards will turn in his favor.
Zinno talked about his career a bit and stated that he had earned first big money back in 2013 when he won the fourth place and the amount of $86,964. This was the first time he decided that he was going to focus only on poker from then on.
