The Dallas Cowboys visit Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia on Sunday, where they will take on the Philadelphia Eagles. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:20 pm central time. This will be a matchup of two teams that are achieving less than expected this season. The Cowboys are 3-5 so far on the year, good enough for 3rd place in the NFC East. The Eagles got themselves to .500 last week, and their record now stands at 4-4.
In their last game, the Cowboys lost to the Titans 28-14 in Dallas. Their entire offense looked out of sync in the loss, and the defense wasn’t much better. Dak Prescott had respectable numbers, going 21 for 31 on the game, good enough for a 99.3 passer rating. He also threw for 2 touchdowns and 1 pick. The biggest deficiency came from the offensive line, which allowed Prescott to be sacked 5 times. Dallas’s defense had a hard time stopping the Titans from scoring as well, as they gave up four touchdowns, two via the rush and two through the air.
The Eagles had a bye last week, so their last game was their week 8 24-18 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars in London. Carson Wentz looked sharp in that game, passing for 3 touchdowns and 286 yards. He did have one pick in the game but had a respectable 119.6 QB rating. He spread the ball around well, completing at least one pass to 8 different receivers (He even caught one of his own passes himself, after it hit off of a defensive lineman. The Eagles are -7 in this game.

Cowboys Offense Led By One Man
Ezekiel Elliott has been pretty much a one man show for the Dallas offense. Their rankings tell that story, as they rank near the bottom of the league in passing yards per game (29th). On the rush, however, they rank 6th in the league with 128.8 yards per game. In total yards, they rank 27th with a measly 336.3 per game. On defense, their stats are more respectable, allowing the 5th fewest passing yards per game (217.13) and the 10th least rushing yards per game (99.88).
Eagles Spreading the Wealth
The Eagles rank 11th in the league in passing yards per game, with 281.8. Rushing, they rank 18th with 106.6 per game. In total yards, they are 13th in the league, getting 336.3 yards per game. Their defense has been playing well as well, allowing just 83.75 rushing yards per game, ranking 2nd. Against the pass, they have been softer, allowing 269.13 yards per game, ranking 25th. They allow a total of 352.88 yards per game, making them 16th in the league.
Prediction
Plain and simple, the Cowboys don’t win without a big performance from running back Ezekiel Elliott, and the Eagles just don’t give up big running back performances. If Dallas is going to beat the spread, they will need a good game from Dak Prescott, something he really hasn’t given them this season. Look for the Eagles to stifle Dallas’s run game and win by 10 or morewith a good game from Wentz. Bet on the Philadelphia Eagles at -290.
