On Monday night, the Kansas City Chiefs travel to Los Angeles to face the Rams in the highly anticipated matchup between two of the most prolific offenses in the NFL. Both first-place teams enter the potential Super Bowl matchup at 9-1 with the winner becoming the first 10-win team in the league. The Rams enter the game as 3.5-point favorites. The total is 63, which is the highest total ever for an NFL game.

Rams vs. Chiefs History
The Chiefs are riding a four-game winning streak and are averaging 35.3 points per game on the season. Last week, they defeated the Arizona Cardinals 26-14, their lowest scoring game of the season. Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes had a solid day, throwing for 249 passing yards and 2 touchdowns, but those numbers are small compared to what he has been putting up all season long.
The Rams enter the game coming off a 36-31 victory over the Seattle Seahawks last week. Quarterback Jared Goff was the key in this game, as he went 28 for 39 with 318 yards and 2 touchdowns. Todd Gurley was his normal self. Gurley finished the game with 160 all-purpose yards and a rushing touchdown, giving him his league-high 13th rushing touchdown of the season. Gurley will almost certainly surpass 1,000 rushing yards on the season Monday night, as he is just 12 yards shy of this feat.
Rams vs. Chiefs News
The Chiefs have leaned on the pass more than the run this year, and ‘Showtime’ Mahomes has not let them down. The Chiefs are averaging 305.5 yards through the air this year which is good for 4th in the league. Mahomes won’t have it easy against Los Angeles who is allowing only 233.1 passing yards per game. They will have to try and get Kareem Hunt going early to have a chance in this game because the Rams will certainly be focused on stopping the pass and keeping the big arm of Mahomes under control.
The Rams, on the other hand, have relied on their superstar running back Todd Gurley to lead the way for them this year. The Rams are 2nd in the league, averaging 144.8 rushing yards per game. The Chiefs has struggled on the defensive end of the ball all season long. The allow the third most total yards per game and are second last in passing defense. Gurley will be able to get his as the Chiefs have a mediocre rush defense as well. Rams receiver Cooper Kupp tore his ACL and is out for the remainder of the season. Even without Kupp, Goff should be able to pick apart this Chiefs secondary and is in line for a big night.
Rams vs. Chiefs Prediction
The Rams should be able to score at will against this poor Chiefs defense. The Chiefs will also put up their fair share of points, but I think the Rams will be the team to come up with stops when they need it most. Rams win this game by a touchdown.
