The Pittsburgh Steelers will face off against the Denver Broncos at Mile High on Sunday afternoon. Pittsburgh is 7-2-1 and in first place in the AFC North. Denver is 4-6 and third place in the AFC West. The Steelers are in a strong position to earn a playoff spot, and the Broncos are on the outside looking in with the Chiefs and Chargers at the forefront of the division.

The Season So Far
Pittsburgh is on a six-game winning streak and is coming off a huge comeback victory of the Jaguars in Jacksonville last week. They overcame a 16-point deficit in a game where the offense was nonexistent for the first 40 minutes of the game. Big Ben led the charge, throwing for 314 yards and two scores through the air as well as a gritty one-yard touchdown run to give the Steelers the win with 5 seconds left in the game. Ben was able to overcome three interceptions and still pull out the victory, proving just how dangerous this Steelers offense can be.
Denver has had an up and down season thus far and is coming off the biggest win of the season. Last week they stunned the Chargers in Los Angeles as Brandon McManus hit a game-winning field goal as time expired. The offense didn’t have a strong game, totaling only 325 yards in the game. However, they managed to get three rushing touchdowns and come out with a win. They will look to build some momentum here and keep the ball rolling at home against the Steelers this week.
Dueling Offenses
The Steelers have just as many weapons on offense as anyone else in the league. They are fifth in the NFL in total yards, averaging 410 per game. They are fourth in passing with 313 per game in that department. They will have a solid matchup against the Denver defense who is just 18th in the league in pass defense. James Connor was extremely quiet last week with only 25 rushing yards on nine carries and will look to bounce back strongly off this weak performance against Denver’s 27th ranked run defense. Antonio Brown will have a good opportunity to build on his league-leading 11 receiving touchdowns.
Denver’s offense has not been too shabby this year as well. They rank 11th in total yards per game with 372 and 8th in the league in rushing averaging 125 yards per game on the ground. Phillip Lindsay has been a nice surprise for this Broncos team and has emerged as the teams leading rusher. He has doubled the next best running back on the team in yards and has scored six total touchdowns on the year. Case Keenum has had a rough season, throwing 11 touchdowns versus 10 interceptions. He could run into trouble against a Pittsburgh defense who has allowed only 227 passing yards per game. They will have to rely on the run game to have a chance here, but that will be a difficult task as well with Pittsburgh allowing just under 100 yards per game in that category.
Steelers vs. Broncos Prediction
The Steelers enter this game -3. I think the defense will be the story in this game. Denver will have trouble scoring and moving the ball at all. Pittsburgh should be able to do enough on offense to win this game by at least a touchdown. Take Pittsburgh to cover the spread.
