On Monday night, the Denver Broncos will travel to Oakland to face the Raiders in a matchup that does not mean much for either team. The Broncos come in at 6-8, and the Raiders come in at 3-11. Both teams are eliminated from playoff contention.

Broncos Struggle to Score
The Broncos are coming off a 17-16 loss to the Cleveland Browns last week. The offense could not get nothing going on this one as they scored just one touchdown and had to settle for 3 field goals. Case Keenum was horrible in this one, going 31 for 48 for 257 yards and two interceptions with zero touchdowns. The only touchdown for the Broncos came on a 1-yard run by Keenum. Tim Patrick was the leading receiver, catching 5 balls for 65 yards. Phillip Lindsay ‘led’ the backfield in rushing, picking up just 24 yards on 14 carries.
The Raiders are coming off a 30-16 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals last week. The offense wasn’t too pretty in this one either, managing just one touchdown and settling for three field goals as well. Quarterback Derek Carr went 21 for 38 for 263 yards and a touchdown and did not throw an interception. The lone passing touchdown was a 1-yard pass to Lee Smith, which was his only catch of the game. Jordy Nelson was the leading receiver, catching 6 passes for 88 yards. The backfield was nonexistent, with Doug Martin leading the way with 39 yards on 9 carries.
Disappointing Seasons All Around
Denver has had a disappointing season after acquiring Case Keenum in the offseason. Phillip Lindsay has been a pleasant surprise for the Broncos as he has led the offense all year long and is 9 yards shy of 1000 yards rushing on the season. The offense ranks 22nd in points per game and 19th in total yards per game with 22 and 352 per game, respectively. The run game has been solid, ranking 9th in the league with 123 yards a game. The defense has not been what was expected at the beginning of the year. They rank 24th in yards allowed per game with 378 and 10th in points with 21.4 allowed each game. They aware ranked in the 20s in both run and pass yards allowed per game as well.
Oakland has been one of the worst teams on both sides of the ball this season. The offense ranks 22nd in yards per game with 344 and 29th in points per game with 19. The passing attack has been average, putting up 245 yards per game which ranks 14th. The running game has not been good at all, ranking 26th with just 99 yards a game. The defense has been downright horrendous for the Raiders. They rank 28th in total yards allowed with 385, 15th in pass yards allowed with 239, and 31st in rushing yards allowed with 146. They also rank dead last in the league in points allowed with 30 per game.
Broncos vs. Raiders Prediction
The Broncos come in at -2.5. Phillip Lindsay should run all over this Raider team with a nonexistent run defense. Case Keenum should have a solid game as well as he is facing a much weaker defense. While Denver’s defense has struggled this season, they should still be able to shut down a Raider offense that is not good either. Take the Broncos -2.5.
