Here we are folks, the Cotton Bowl is upon us! After a few weeks, off to prepare, these two teams will be battling to see who reaches the pinnacle game of college football, the BCS Championship Game.
Both teams come into this undefeated and deploying quarterbacks who have been surprisingly dominant. One will be knocked off their perch, and we can’t wait until game time.

Notre Dame:
We start with the Fighting Irish, who made their mark with an amazing defense all season long, allowing just 17.2 points per game (#10 in the nation). They had 11 total defensive interceptions between six players and a whole lot of sacks to boot. Jerry Tillery, Khalid Kareem, and Julian Okwara have led the way, combining for 18 total sacks for the team this year. All of these guys will be vital, as they also force a lot of fumbles. They have recovered eight of the ten that they forced.
Then, we’ve got the offense and Ian Book. He took over for Brandon Wimbush, who will transfer after the season, and Book has done a very admirable job. He threw for 2,468 yards, 19 touchdowns, and limited his turnovers, with just six picks. Dexter Williams had 943 rushing yards and 12 scores on the year. His play has been very important and will continue to be if they want to have a chance to dethrone the Tigers.
Clemson:
They are inside of the top five in both points, for and against, showing that they can truly do it all. They allowed just 13.2 points per game, while they scored 45.4 points per game in the process. Trevor Lawrence took over for an unhappy Kelly Bryant (who is going to be transferring) and led the team to a perfect regular season. 2,606 yards and 24 TD passes, while only throwing four picks. He suffered an injury in his first start and Chase Brice had to take over, but even that didn’t stop them. Travis Etienne had 1,464 yards and 21 TD’s on the year, proving to be one of the top backs in the country.
And we talk about their defense, the jaws just start dropping. Clelin Ferrell had 10.5 sacks this year to lead a team that had fifteen players get to the QB at least once. Nine different players recorded an interception, and they recorded nine of the 15 fumbles that they forced. They made all 80 of their PAT tries, and it seems that Greg Huegel is the right man for the job.
Notre Dame pulls major upset to get to title game!
We’re going with the Fighting Irish! Despite being 12-point underdogs in the biggest game of the season, they are going to the ones to emerge without a scratch.
325 yards and a pair of TD passes from Ian Book will help power them to victory, in what will prove to be a relatively low-scoring affair.
