If one person could claim to be the ultimate champion of the US Poker Open, that would definitely be Stephen Chidwick, one of the most popular players in the UK. He has managed to take his third title in the US Poker Open 2019 after winning two back-to-back titles back in 2018. This time, Chidwick won Event #1: $10,000 NLH and took home a hefty prize of $216,000.

Since this was the first event in this year’s USPO, there is still a lot of room for Chidwick to win yet another event. There is even an official race, and its winner will win an additional $100,000 which are given by PokerGO.
Chidwick stated that he had kept running just like the year before and that the US Poker Open was his favorite place to play poker. Therefore, he stated that he had come focused and ready to do his best. After he won the event, he told USPO officials that he thought ARIA and the team at Poker Central were doing a great job and that the additional $100,000 for the poker champion was a great idea to make this poker festival even more popular. He also stated that it seemed people really liked playing poker at the PokerGO studio and that they were spreading the word about it. Chidwick concluded that he believed that the fields are just going to keep getting bigger in the years to come.
The Results of the Final Table
What is interesting is that all of the players in the final table are the residents of the United States with the exception of Stephen Chidwick, who lives in the United Kingdom. The final table consisted of six players who did their best to reach the final part of the game.
The first one to hit the rail was Joseph Orsino, who earned $54,000, and was followed by Lazaro Hernandez with $72,000. The fourth place was reserved for Joseph Cappello for $90,000, and Joseph Cheong ended up third and won $112,500.
The two players to remain in the heads-up play were Sean Winter and Stephen Chidwick. The last part of the event did not last long as Stephen managed to turn a gutshot straight. The card on the turn also gave Winter a set, but he failed to fill it up on the river. That was enough for Chidwick to once again win a USPO event and show his skill and determination.
The rest of the US Poker Open tournament is going to be interesting as Chidwick is already setting records. There are still a couple of events to go, and the player who makes the best score will be able to claim the additional prize of $100k.
