Led by a resilient young core, Sacramento has impressed many folks around the league this year. However, the playoffs are probably not going to be happening for them, although this year is going to be something to build upon.
Boston is looking to win their 42nd game of the season. Fresh off their loss to the Clippers, this will be their day to bounce back, as they try to earn a victory in front of the home fans. The last time they played SAC at home (last November), they dominated a very-different-looking Kings team.

Kings:
Six players are scoring in double-figures for this team on average, led by Buddy Hield. He has come a long way from a year ago, averaging 21-4-5, which are the numbers of a borderline All-Star. He is scoring at a wild rate and shooting 44% from beyond the arc. De’Aaron Fox and Bogdan Bogdanovic have both been terrific playmakers, not only creating opportunities for themselves, but for their teammates. They have the Knicks, Celtics, and the Knicks again in their next three, giving them a serious chance at three straight wins.
The keys for them to beat Boston are mostly on the offensive end. They are going to need to get baskets at a high rate, led by Buddy Hield. If he can find his outside shot in the early part of the game, it will give them a huge lift. The speed of DeAaron Fox could get to the rim past Kyrie from time to time. Nemanja Bjelica’s performance off the bench remaining impressive should also help.
Celtics:
Being the #4 team in points allowed on the year has been a big part of Boston’s recent run. The length of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown on the defensive end have helped to stifle the top scorers on the other teams. Kyrie continues to ignore the negative media and the naysayers during his career year. 24-5-7 on 50% shooting, including 42% from deep. Gordon Hayward has come alive during the team’s streak, and as long as that black eye doesn’t heal, this should remain the case.
It is hard to say exactly what happened to them against the Clippers, but they are going to need to get back on track. Currently sitting at the #5 seed in the East, they are on a collision course for a playoff rematch with the Bucks, though they are going to have to get their act together again. They will be in the postseason no matter what happens, but not in the spot we expected.
Celtics get their 42nd win, derail Kings playoff hopes even further
The Celtics will be picking up their 42nd W of the season. Kyrie Irving and Jayson Tatum will both be leading the Celtics tonight, with Jaylen Brown’s effort off the bench also playing a huge part.
