The year of 2019 will be a very special year for the lovers and organizers of the World Series of Poker, which will take place from May 29 to July 16. The main reason for that is its 50th anniversary, which means that this poker tournament has been actively taking place for fifty straight years. This is definitely one of the biggest tournaments in poker and many celebrations, as well as special events, will take place during the tournament, including a $50,000 high-roller event and the Big 50 event.

However, the organizers are not going to focus only on poker, as they decided to host an event which will have one more purpose – to honor some of the best players and let all bracelet winners have dinner together while they enjoy the ceremony.
Ty Stewart is Executive Director at WSOP, and he stated that nobody could have foreseen what would WSOP look like in the future. He added that it was only fitting to choose one night which would not be devoted to playing poker but to a celebration of this extraordinary game; a celebration that would include all the players who mattered for that tournament.

The focal point of the event will definitely be the awards ceremony, which will honor some of the best players, hands, wins, and more. At the moment, there are seven categories which would be awarded, and they are:

Best Overall WSOP Performance (Single Year)
Most Likely to Succeed (Player currently 35 or Under to Win the Most Gold Bracelets between 2020-2070)
Fan Favorite Player
WSOP’s Favorite Bad Boy
Most Impressive Main Event Win

The winners of this category will be decided by a panel that consists of members from the poker industry and media.
