Colorado has not played any good baseball since the All-Star Break, and as such, they are looking to be out of the running to qualify for the postseason this year. They had four different players in their lineup qualify for the All-Star Game, and they have got to be the only team with a record like they have to accomplish such a feat. They have a lot of work to do if they intend to try and still compete for a playoff spot.
The Yankees, on the other hand, have continued to get it done, as players have continued to get healthy for them. Aaron Judge has been playing well since his return, and, despite a blown save from Aroldis Chapman earlier this week, the team has not lost any of its competitive spirit. They are looking at a year where it will be World Series or bust, and rightfully so, we’ll see how they perform as the season progresses.
The moneyline for this contest has the Colorado Rockies +200 and the New York Yankees -230. The over/under has been set at 11.
Not Coming Through
The offensive lineup is absolutely bustling with talent, led by Nolan Arenado and his 21 HRs and 71 RBI. He is also batting .307 for the year. Trevor Story has 22 long balls to 55 RBI and a .288 average. David Dahl is also batting north of .300, though he is currently out of the lineup. Certainly not to be lost here is Charlie Blackmon, batting .318 this year and proud owner of a home run from the 2019 ASG. Outside of these guys, there is little to be hopeful about, with a poor bullpen and starting rotation. Winning games at Coors Field can be difficult at times because of how the ball carries.
They will send Kyle Freeland to the mound for his 14th start of the season. He has posted a 2-6 record with an abysmal 7.39 ERA. He has 52 strikeouts to 25 walks, and they will be hoping to finally get a win in his start.
Hurt But Winning
The injury list for them is still longer than that of any other team in the majors, but they sit 29 games over .500 through 95 games. They have four players with over 50 RBI, and it is an unexpected list, with the leader being DJ LeMahieu (.331 average). In just 38 games this year, Aaron Judge has clubbed 10 home runs and proved that he is back. They will finally be getting Domingo German and his 11 wins back. JA Happ has been undoubtedly their worst pitcher, but the guys around him have excelled.
Happ will be getting the nod tonight, making his 19th start of the season. His 4.93 ERA is not the prettiest figure out there. He is 7-5 with 76 Ks and 23 walks in 95 innings of work.
Yankees Pick Up A Win
Make sure you bet on the Yankees tonight. JA Happ will have a strong outing to help power his team to victory!
