So far so perfect for these Cowboys. They have won their first three games and have elite players across the board on both sides of the ball. As soon as Ezekiel Elliott ended his holdout, there was an aura around this team that a big season was coming, and they have not disappointed. On both sides, they have proven to be lethal, and now they will be trying to overwhelm the Saints to start the season with a 4-0 record.
For the second straight week, the Saints will be without Drew Brees, so they will be turning to Teddy Bridgewater to carry the torch. This is a team that is in a division that has struggled around them so if they can have a winning record in the time that their leader is out, taking them out could prove to be awfully difficult. They are clearly missing Mark Ingram (now with Baltimore), but are lucky to have a back like Latavius Murray that they could bring in as his replacement.
The spread for the matchup favors the visiting Cowboys by three points, while the over/under is set at 47.
Dallas Trying To Stay Perfect
What more could this team want? Dak Prescott is looking like an All-Pro QB in his prove-it year where the team will probably have to fork over the big bucks. Zeke is continuing to ground and pound while proving his durability as a four-down back. Amari Cooper is catching every pass thrown his way while Randall Cobb is showing that he can hold it down while Michael Gallup misses games with an injury. Jason Witten is back in the fold, and the O-Line is absolutely protecting as well as any in the league.
Their defense has applied endless pressure while they have big playmakers scattered through the secondary. There is not a weak link on this team, and it will take a full performance to knock them off their perch.
Saints Look To Keep Rolling
With Brees set to miss another game, it is up to Bridgewater to hold it down. He showed the heart he plays with during his postgame speech to his team, and it makes you just want to run through a brick wall for him. He is a solid passer who has had plenty of time to learn the playbook and his teammates’ tendencies. He is looking to form a Brees-like connection with Alvin Kamara this week and find Michael Thomas for as many targets as he can take.
Even with Brees out, the offense should be able to hold it down, but we should expect a strong showing from the Saints D-Line in their tough matchup. They will be able to apply the pressure needed, while the secondary should rise to the occasion.
