Kevin Hart is a big poker fan and has been taking part in numerous live poker events. Once the lockdown caused by the pandemic is over, Hart will return to the poker tables. However, this time he will have a new purpose — to promote partypoker, a popular online poker operator.
Rob Yong released a video on his Twitter, where he announced that the company partnered up with the popular actor and stand-up comedian. In the future, Hart will promote the site and the game.
Yong stated that he had asked Kevin to promote amateur poker. He added that Hart was the “highest-stakes amateur player” and that he would be a great fit to promote poker for amateurs to the masses. Moreover, Yong said that Kevin Hart would be “a global ambassador” for partypoker.
Hart was excited about the cooperation as well in the video, stating that he “is here to party and make it a good time.” Moreover, he added that he expected the poker world “to get a lot more fun.”
Not the First Time for Kevin
If these words sound familiar, it’s because that was not the first time Kevin Hart decided to become an official poker ambassador for a poker brand. As a matter of fact, he signed a contract for PokerStars several years ago, meaning he was a brand ambassador for partypoker’s direct and biggest rival.
He first attended the 2017 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure, where he took part in the $100,000 Super High Roller. After some time, he was contacted by PokerStars and asked to join their team of ambassadors.
This was part of PokerStars’ strategy to reduce having poker players as ambassadors and focus on celebrities who would attract more people to play poker. That’s why some of the names that made it to their list include sprint legend Usain Bolt, and the Brazilian football player Neymar.
Hart continued to play poker as the ambassador for PokerStars throughout early 2018 when he took part in many live tournaments. However, since then, he hasn’t been around much in live poker.
However, Yong stated that Hart didn’t really stop playing. In fact, according to him, he played the game even more than before. The way these two actually got together was over a poker cash game, which took place among the two players, Andrew Robl, and Jean-Robert Bellande.
Hart is definitely one of the most popular actors in the US, if not the entire world. His net worth is estimated to more than $200 million, and he has tens of millions of followers on social media, meaning he would be a welcome addition to the partypoker team.
Once the pandemic is over, we’ll see whether Hart has something to offer poker-wise and how his approach to poker would be. Until then, stay at home and play poker online to do your part in containing the spread of the coronavirus.
