The WSOP.com Online Finale Circuit Series is currently underway, and five events already wrapped up. The series features a total of 12 ring events that will run through June 14. Only players in Nevada, New Jersey, and Delaware can access these events and take part in online poker.
The event that wrapped up most recently was Event #5: $200,000 GTD Online Finale Circuit Monster Stack 3x Re-Entry. All players who wanted to take part in it had to pay the buy-in price of $525.
In the end, the event recorded a total of 491 registrations and 172 rebuys, which resulted in a total of 663 entries. The number of players surpassed all expectations, and the final prize pool was $331,500. The top 75 players were paid a minimum payout of $1,060.
However, the maximum payout was $81,217 and Alan Sternberg was the one to win that money after taking down the event. Sternberg, who uses the online nickname “mossadshark”, topped the field and became one of the few who managed to win a WSOP Circuit ring.
On top of that, “mossadshark” won a guaranteed spot in the Global Casino Championship, that will also take place on the web. However, Sternberg did not have an easy task, as he had to face some serious competition in the final table, that included poker professionals such as Godon “veilleux” Vayo and Jimy “BOCARATONE” Collopy.
Many great players managed to make it to the money list but failed to fight their way through to the final tables. Ankush “rickrosstheb” Mandavia ended up 10th for $3,646, Jonathan “jetsfan14” Borenstein was 17th for $2,652, and Brock “ohmyguan” Wilson had to hit the rail in the 19th place for $2,652. Some of the great players who took part in this event but failed to win some money are Darren “avocadotoast” Rabinowitz, William “swaggyb” Corvino, JQi Tim “LINSANITY” Ha, and more.
The Final Table Results
The first player to hit the rail as the ninth-placed was “JackalAl”, who won $4,806 for their effort. They were followed by “kingofnvaces” for $7,293, and Michael “itwasthator9” Gagliano for $7,094. The next one to lose all chips and say goodbye was Jimy “BOCARATONE” Collopy, who won $14,586.
The fifth place was reserved for “DarrensRabbi” for $17,901, and the fourth place belonged to “Jah_Dan” for $21,216. The last player to hit the rail before the heads-up could begin was Gordon “veilleux” Vayo, who won a total of $27,846.
Sternberg’s final opponent was a player who uses the nickname “mizer3.” However, they weren’t good enough to beat Sternberg and had to settle for the consolation prize of $45,581. This marked the end for another great WSOP.com Online Finale Circuit, but there are still seven more events to go, and we can already see some great online poker action.
