The 2020 World Series of Poker Online is currently underway, and only players in Nevada and New Jersey are able to access the events. Nevertheless, a non-American who is currently visiting one of the two states applied for an online poker event and managed to win it.
This was Event #11: $500 No-Limit Hold’em Turbo Deepstack 6-Handed. The event attracted a total of 1,081 original players. On top of that, 610 rebuys were recorded, so the number of entries was actually 1,691.

On the other hand, Kornuth, who is known for winning the 2018 WSOP Event #63: WSOP.com Online NLH High Roller, had to settle for the consolation prize, which was $79,201. He had an opportunity to become the first player ever to have two gold bracelets won in online events, but was denied by Afanasenka.
Before winning this event and the gold bracelet, Afanasenka had only $110,884 in live tournament earnings, according to his Hendon Mob profile. He also took part in some WSOP events and won a total of $15,749 prior to winning this event. This was also his fourth cash from the start of the 2020 Online WSOP, meaning he has been doing a great job lately.
Raman Afanasenka is a player from Belarus, and he is the first non-American player to win a bracelet this year.
Other players who managed to make it to the money list of this event but failed short of reaching the final table are Yueqi Zhu, Mike Matusow, Robert Kuhn, Ryan Laplante, Larry Ormson, Jesse Sylvia, Michel Lech, and Kami Hudson.
The Final Table Results
Afanasenka started the final table as the chip leader, and he even managed to score to eliminations right away. The first player that had to hit the rail was Erica “Huckcheevers” Lindgren, who won $22,676 for her effort. The next one in line was Neeraj “nee0903” Nayak, who ended up in fifth place and won $30,514.
Fourth place was reserved for David “Twizzlers” Prociak, who won $41,471. The last player to hit the rail before Kornuth and Afanasenka started their head-to-head duel was Brett “Metanemesis” Apter, who won a total of $57,071.
