There is a whole lot of basketball left to be played in 2021, but the Clippers-Bucks battle set to happen on Sunday is a possible Finals matchup. Both of these teams tasted disappointment last year, falling to teams that were expected to lose pretty handily in the second round. Each can say they have been there and are hungry to stem the tide.
The Clippers have looked fantastic this year, though they are still chasing Utah for the top spot. The big key is that they were able to overcome having Kawhi Leonard and also Paul George in health and safety protocol/injured at the same time while still picking up wins. The players at the end of the bench joined the starting lineup and led them to wins. Shoutout to Nicolas Batum.
Milwaukee has currently won three games in a row, as they have begun to turn their season around. Only three teams in the East have a winning record through 34-36 games, something that nobody expected to be the case. The Bucks have been up and down but are good enough to maintain the #3 record in the East. Philly and Brooklyn are both in front of them.

Clippers Aiming for Road Victory
It has been a good year for the Clippers to date. They have overcome injuries and have also been able to acclimate all of their new players pretty well. They are still in the market for a starting point guard, but Pat Bev can cut it for the time being. He’s one of the best defensive players in the league and knocks down threes as called upon. But, having a natural facilitator would certainly help this wing-dominant squad.
We won’t truly know how the team has progressed until the playoffs start. The Clippers, as a franchise, have never made it past the conference semifinals. Just when last year seemed to be it, they blew a 3-1 lead. Enter Ty Lue. He got the Cavs their first title, so perhaps he can make some magic while leading here.
Bucks Looking for Fourth Win in a Row
As the Bucks look to stay hot, they get an old friend back in the lineup. Jrue Holiday has had to miss the team’s last ten games in health and safety protocol but is finally expected to return. If he doesn’t play well, it may feel a bit different, as the game is on national TV, and the pressure is a little higher. But still, great that he can come back.
Bryn Forbes played well in his absence, but the team suffered through a losing skid when Holiday first started missing contests. Giannis continues to dominate and is averaging better than 37 points and 12 rebounds during the team’s win streak. He is absolutely on fire.
The three-point shot has to be the Bucks’ friend.
