Caesars Entertainment, one of the biggest American hospitality and casino entertainment companies, recently revealed the newest expansion and enhancement for Indiana Grand Racing & Casino. The Indiana property is owned by a popular operator who will invest approximately $32.5 million in making the necessary upgrades to it.
After the property is revitalized and expanded, it should create more than 100 new casino jobs. Another huge benefit is increased local and state gaming tax revenue.
According to Caesars Entertainment, the property should have its gaming space increased by approximately 25,000 square feet. The racino currently has about 70,000 square feet of gaming space. Apart from the expansion, Caesars will introduce new updates to the property’s design and will add plenty of architectural features all over Indiana Grand Racing & Casino.
Anthony Carano, President and Chief Operating Officer of Caesars Entertainment Inc, stated in the official press release that the investment was a testament to the company’s “continued commitment to Indiana.” Moreover, Carano added that the company is dedicated to upgrading and enhancing all operations in the locations owned by Caesars and that they were excited, to begin with, the new renovation phases and expansion in Shelbyville.
New Amenities Added to the Property
The casino in Indiana will get plenty of new and great amenities after the expansion. First of all, the gaming floor will see the addition of 100 new slot machines. Right now, the property is already home to 2,200 gaming machines, including slots, video slots, and poker machines. Moreover, Caesars will also add 25 additional table games, which will be added to the existing portfolio of live and electronic table options. Finally, the gaming floor’s interior will be refreshed, with the biggest change being the new and comfortable gaming chairs.
Perhaps the most important addition is the 20-table World Series of Poker room which is named after the biggest live poker festival in the world. According to Caesars Entertainment, visitors will have an opportunity to enjoy the “premium experience” when playing poker in the new poker room.
But that’s not all. There are some preliminary plans for introducing a video poker bar that will feature 20 seats and large 65-inch LCD overhead screens-
The expansion and renovation process is scheduled to begin on April 1, 2021. If all goes well, it should be completed in about a year. Hopefully, the land-based gambling industry will return to its pre-Covid state, and Indiana Grand will be able to welcome all people who are interested in checking out the newest additions. The works will be conducted by a company named Wilhelm Construction from Indianapolis.
Mike Rich, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Indiana Grand, stated that the property had been looking forward to this expansion since early 2020. Moreover, he added that the growth of the property would help them accommodate more guests and increase their team by more talented individuals. Finally, Rich shared his excitement about all the gaming expansions, including the poker room.
