50 Players Have Already Qualified for a Seat at the 2021 WSOP Main Event

The road to Vegas is already underway at GGPoker. This marks the first time an international poker operator other than 888poker is giving international poker players a chance to play in Las Vegas. GGPoker, in partnership with World Series of Poker, is giving packages each week allowing players to enter the WSOP Main Event without paying the buy-in.

The satellite tournaments for the WSOP Main Event started on August 1. The buy-ins start at $25.

50 Players Have Won the GGPoker Package, More to Go

In two weeks, 50 players have already reserved their seats for the main event by winning the $12500 worth of package. This number will shoot higher as the promotion continues, and more satellite tourneys will roll out.

The GGPoker package is worth more than $12,500. It comprises the following:

• An entry into the $10,000 2021 WSOP Main Event
• $1250 travel expenses
• A GGPoker branded merch
• Entry to the GG WSOP Players Party
• 7-days accommodation at Rio All-Suite Hotel
• Entrance to the GGPoker Platinum Lounge at the Rio

There is also another competition dubbed Last Longer. It is eligible for all qualifiers who will win an exemplary WSOP Europe 2021 package. 

But, GGPoker is not the first operator to send players to the sin city. In the past, 888poker sent over 100 players to Las Vegas.

GGPoker might surpass the yearly number sent to Las Vegas to play poker.  The brand was the official sponsor of WSOP.

Already, averagely four players qualify for a seat at the WSOP Main Event every day. If the promotions continue for another six weeks, over 200 players will qualify for seats at Main Event.

With all these players qualifying for the main event, going to Las Vegas is still a dream. This is because the rise of the COVID-19 in America and the rest of the world is influencing travel restrictions. Besides, WSOP also published disqualification rules related to the coronavirus.

Players are still debating about the rules on social media, especially on Twitter. The rules might have discouraged some players from participating in the WSOP live series.

But, GGPoker has offered an alternative to players who will not manage to attend the Main Event. The brand stated through a FAQ segment that these players would get T$10,000. However, the brand announced through Discord channels that it would assess each individual case to determine whether a player will get T$10,000 in exchange for a seat at the WSOP Main Event.

If a player wins a second package, it will be exchanged for a $10,000 tournament prize. Also, a player has to wear a GGPoker patch to take part in the second promotion, dubbed “Last Longer” competition.

The Event Comes Four Month Later Than Usual

Due to the spread of the coronavirus, 2021 WSOP did not occur during summer as usual. Instead, the event was pushed to this fall, from September 30 to November 23.

The $10,000 WSOP Main Event will run between November 4 and November 17. Qualifiers from four Day 1s and two Day 2s will meet on November 10 for Day 3. 

The Road to Vegas promotion will run throughout August. Every day, one player is guaranteed to get the package at a buy-in of $1050, while another five are given on Sundays.
