The Las Vegas Raiders are heading to Dallas for Thanksgiving this year, hoping to pull an upset on America’s team. Both of these squads are coming off tough losses, trying to bounce back before things can get any worse. The Raiders fell to Joe Burrow and the Bengals, while Dallas struggled to get their offense against the ground in a drubbing, of sorts, against KC.
It has been a very up-and-down year for the Raiders, with every last off-field headline being negative. Henry Ruggs III is gone and (probably) gone for good, deservedly so, though, after what happened. And then their coach is involved in a scandal where he used inappropriate and highly offensive language to league personnel in emails. It’s amazing they haven’t already fallen apart.
Dallas is a team that has finally been able to play distraction-free, seemingly for the first time since they were running through teams during Dak Prescott’s rookie season. It’s also very clear how great he is and that if he didn’t get hurt last year, the team probably wins the NFC East. They do need to keep Ezekiel Elliott more involved, but for now, there isn’t too much to worry about.
This game will be won by the team that brings the fight to their opponent first.
Betting Odds & Lines
The spread for this contest is currently set at DAL -7.5. The over/under is sitting at 51 points. The Las Vegas line is +265, while the Cowboys are -334.
Vegas Looking for Turkey Day Win
It would come as a surprise to most non-Raider fan bettors if they were able to actually win this game. But they have a darn good QB in Derek Carr, who ranks #2 in passing yards per game so far this season. They have Josh Jacobs to give the ball too, who is usually good for 100 yards. And Darren Waller is still here as one of the best tight ends in the NFL.
On the defensive side, they have holes but also a ton of great playmaking. If they want to win this game, they need to force turnovers. Be aggressive at the line of scrimmage and make Dak uncomfortable.
This is the kind of game where a win can jumpstart your season. Raiders had best be ready.
Dallas Seeks Eighth Win
The loss to KC can already be forgotten, and Dallas can focus on the one consistency they have each year. They host the late-afternoon window Thanksgiving Day game and will hope to be at their best. There is plenty of talent here, and they have no reason to not win by 10+.
It does remain unclear, though, if CeeDee Lamb is going to play. Amari Cooper will remain out, but they still have plenty of guys that they can throw the ball, too. It’s a deep receiver room, and they should be grateful for that.
They need to limit Josh Jacobs’ explosiveness while making sure to carve out long drives to keep the Vegas D on the field.
Cowboys Win
Dallas will get back on track, covering the spread & knocking off the Raiders.
