888poker is returning its popular Millions SuperStorm promotion for the third time. The poker room intends to give over $2 million this time around, with half of this amount designated for the Main Event. Millions SuperStorm promotion series will begin on Feb. 13 and run through Mar. 8 for the final event.
The first time 888poker launched Millions SuperStorm was two years ago. This inaugural series required players to complete daily challenges, including freerolls and wheel spins that ultimately led to the Millions SuperStorm. This was a multi-flight tournament with a $1 million prize pool.
The second edition happened eight months after the first one. It mirrored the same concept as the first one. The difference was the $8 million prize pool, making it the biggest guarantee granted by 888 in its history.
Millions SuperStorm Third Edition
The upcoming series makes it the second that the poker room is hosting in the form of a tournament and a third time as a promo campaign.
888poker is changing the concept for the third edition as there will be no daily challenges.
Instead, players will participate in a three-week tournament series and earn a share of the guaranteed prize. The matches will be only 30, significantly lower than the number of events in the previous editions, considering previous editions comprised over 480 events.
There will be two tournaments each week and a daily $15,000 Progressive Knock-Out.
Notably, most of the events feature multi-flights allowing multiple Day 1s. The buy-ins are as low as $15 for a direct entry. But, those entering the series through satellite tourneys will have a much lower buy-in. Smaller bankrolls can join the event with freeroll satellites.
Participants in the multi-phased games scheduled for the first week will pay between $11 and $109. The amount will increase to $33 up to $215 for the second week and $55 to $1050 for the third week. The lowest guaranteed prize for an event is $50k, while the highest is $1 million.
Celebrating the 20th Anniversary
888poker is celebrating its 20th year since it started offering services to its clients. This coincides with the upcoming promotion.
The poker brand also signed up Chris Eubank Jr. as its cultural ambassador to mark the achievement. Meanwhile, players can prepare for Main Event Day 1 flights starting Feb. 27. The satellite tournaments will commence on the first day of the festival.
