Bally’s Corporation recently revealed that it has given the International Center for Responsible Gaming (ICRG) a $600,000 donation. The non-profit organization concentrates on preventing and treating betting related-harm.
The demand for scientific research and education on betting among adults is on the rise as sports gambling, and legal casinos increase their popularity. Besides, more players need responsible betting tools.
The ICRG is addressing gambling-related issues in the country. The recent donation indicates that Bally’s is committed to helping researchers understand the health risks that gambling poses to young adults. Robenson Reeves, Interactive at Bally’s President, stated that the donation was part of their responsibility and mission to prevent problem gambling and gambling harm among bettors.
He added that Bally’s takes its responsibility to enlighten the public, adult players, and its workers about responsible betting. Reeves stated that the gaming operator is eager to partner with ICRG on advanced scientific research on betting among young adults, and the use and efficiency of responsible betting tools.
How Will the Donation Help in Responsible Gambling?
Bally’s believes that its donation will help the ICRG research on betting and gambling harm among adults for several years. The ICRG provides part of the donation to gambling scientists as grants.
The center invites scientists from all countries to apply for the grant. Then, it thoroughly reviews applications to support high-quality research.
Arthur Paikowsky, ICRG President, stated that Bally’s Corporation’s donation will greatly help it understand how gambling affects young adults’ health and increase the efficiency of various responsible betting tools. He commended the gaming company for making that bold move.
The ICRG is keen on collaborating with leading global gaming operators such as Bally’s Corporation on financing scientific research to help vulnerable groups. The center will recruit experts that can work on various research topics.
Extra Donations That the ICRG Received
The ICRG hasn’t received a donation from Bally’s Corporation alone this year. Instead, other iGaming firms have offered financial support to control and treat gambling addiction.
Las Vegas Sands donated $300,000 to the ICRG in February to develop guidelines and tutorials for parents whose children have gambling addiction signs. MGM Resorts also donated $250,000 to the center in March to fund education and research on responsible gambling and betting disorders. Caesars Entertainment donated $200,000 to ICRG for the same purpose in May.
