What would have been an exciting matchup when looking at these two teams in the preseason now brings us one of the first double-digit favorites of the year.
The New England Patriots will be on the road to take on the Green Bay Packers on Sunday and Lambeau Field is going to be rocking.
After their opening loss to the Vikings, the Packers have found their stride and it looks like Aaron Rodgers can still make all of the throws he needs to.
Their ground game needs to continue to develop with Jones and Dillon, but they’re a strong offense.
The Patriots are at a turning point of the season, with Mac Jones suffering a high ankle sprain in their most recent loss to the Ravens.
It puts the Pats in an awkward position, and Jones has not been officially ruled out yet, but it doesn’t sound like he will be able to suit up, bringing Brian Hoyer into the fray.
The Packers get the heavy favorite for this game on their home turf over the Patriots at -10.5.
No issues to speak of for Rodgers and the Packers
After a dumpster fire opening week, the Packers have righted the ship and continue to look the part of one of the best teams in the NFC.
There are some dry spells in their offense still, but any team can experience those difficulties depending on their matchups.
Rodgers can deliver the ball wherever he needs to at any point of the game, and coupling that with their strong running backs it makes their team a little bit unfair.
Jones and Dillon can breakaway and have multi-touchdown games and any point.
Where to look for offense in New England
What is crazy about this year’s season for the Patriots, they have been pretty much involved in every game in these first three weeks.
Despite their 0-3 record, they can keep games close because their defense is stronger than most people think.
Where they lack is in the ground game, as their running backs haven’t gotten off to the best start yet this season.
There is still a lot to love on this team, but without Mac Jones, they are due to struggle a little bit more on offense than they already were.
Patriots @ Packers Betting Prediction
As such a strong favorite at home this early in the season, the general feeling is that Mac Jones will not be playing in this game.
Losing a starting quarterback on any team is going to be a major blow, even if you have a proven veteran backup like Brian Hoyer in the wings.
The Packers are rolling right now, and I think this is a statement game for Rodgers and their passing attack to dominate despite their rookie receivers.
Take the Packers at -10.5 to take care of business at Lambeau Field and get an easy victory over the New England Patriots without Mac Jones.
