The first big wave of bye weeks has surfaced in the NFL, and now a few teams are fresh off of their bye as we head into Week 7 of the regular season.
One such team, the Detroit Lions, will be on the road to take on the Dallas Cowboys and are looking to find their second win of the season.
It has been a rocky road for all of Detroit, as they boast one of the worst records in the league, despite their high offensive output.
As for the Cowboys, it is likely that this is the game that Dak Prescott will be able to make his big return after injuring his hand in their opening contest against the Buccaneers.
Coming off a loss to arguably the best team in the NFL, the Dallas Cowboys will look to right the ship on their home turf and will be a significant favorite over the Lions.
Coming into this contest, the oddsmakers have Dallas favored over Detroit at -7.
Is the offense enough to carry the Lions to a better record?
Before the season even started, it was clear that the Lions’ defense needed some work especially when it was compared to their offense.
Skill guys are all over the field in their offense with the likes of Swift, Williams, Hockenson, and St. Brown, and these guys make Jared Goff look like he still has a little bit of touch left.
A defense with as many holes as theirs is what is costing them in some of these close games, and if they find a way to at least be average on that front, they will make significant strides with their record.
A top defense paired back with Dak Prescott makes for a scary contender
The Cowboys have finally solidified their defense and look nearly unstoppable on that side of the ball.
Cooper Rush did an admirable job as a starter, but the return of Dak is going to open up some big plays down the field which the Cowboys were severely lacking.
The receiving core is ready to make a big jump, but they did not have someone capable of getting them the ball.
These passing lanes down the field are going to open up more holes for Elliot and Pollard in the running game and make Dallas the complete team in the NFC.
Lions @ Cowboys Betting Prediction
When you put these two teams side-by-side, the Cowboys have more talent on both sides of the ball and have been locked in for the entire season.
Detroit has been fun to watch if nothing else, but they lack the necessary game management and defense to go on the road and win a tough game like this.
Their offense will put up some points, but the Cowboys should have no problem pulling away towards the end of the game and walk away with the victory.
Take Dallas on their home field at -7.
