Two of the most surprising teams towards the top of the NFC this season will be going head-to-head on Sunday when the New York Giants are on the road to take on the Seattle Seahawks.
Both the Giants and Seahawks have been full of surprises this season as they sit near the top of the NFC and have been the winners of a number of close games.
All that to say, this might very well be the game of the week (discounting prime-time games), and it provides us one of the most intriguing matchups.
The two running backs have really made an impact in recent weeks, as SaQuon Barkley is a league leader in rushing, and Kenneth Walker has gotten a huge bump since he has taken over all of the snaps.
As we look at the spread for this game, the general consensus has Seattle favored on their home turf over the Giants at -3.
A team filled with promise after years of heartbreak
Looking up and down the Giants’ roster, there are not too many names that stick out other than Barkley at running back.
What has saved them in this is that Daniel Jones has gotten the turnover bug off his back and is making some excellent decisions in the pocket and when to use his legs.
Without the turnovers, their defense is always in good field position and it makes the offense able to get into a flow that they haven’t seen in New York for a long while.
Going into Seattle is no easy task, as they are famously one of the rowdiest fan bases in the NFL. As long as the Giants keep up the ball control, they should be set.
Geno Smith is doing what we have wanted from Russell Wilson for a long time
Much to the chagrin of most Seattle fans before the season started, Geno Smith was named the starter and many thought this team would produce a lackluster offense.
Smith has proved the doubters wrong, and he has an athletic step to his game that the Seahawks have been missing in Russell Wilson for the last few seasons.
It has completely turned the mindset and trajectory of this team inside out, and now the Seahawks look to be moving to be one of the favorites in the NFC.
A change in personnel can really make all the difference for the culture of a team.
Giants @ Seahawks Betting Prediction
No doubt about it, the Seahawks deserved to be favored in front of their home crowd, despite the Giants’ success in some of their close outings.
All that to say, I would not be surprised if either team pulled out ahead here, but this looks like a time for the Giants luck to run out officially.
Take the Seahawks and Geno Smith to win over the Giants on their own turf, and watch as the Seahawks continue to rise up the ranks of the NFC.
