A lot occurs in the poker world at the end of the year. Some players pay special attention to achieving their yearly goals, getting the most leaderboard points, participating in the biggest live poker events, and much more.
This year is no different as different poker rooms schedule for action-packed events. But the World Poker Tour (WPT) plans to outshine them all. Here are the major players that WPT plans to outdo.
Mid-States Poker Tour in Nevada and Minnesota
The Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT) will begin on December 1 and run through January 8 in Nevada and December 1-11 in Minnesota. The tour stop will occur at Running Aces Casino in Columbus, Minnesota.
This event will serve as the Winter Poker Classic Series featuring 11 trophies.
The highlight of the event is the MSPT Main Event going for $1,110 between December 8 and 11 with a guarantee of $500,000. The main event in Minnesota will have three flights.
Meanwhile, MSPT will conclude the year at the Venetian Las Vegas by hosting an event within the DeepStack Extravaganza Poker Series. The event’s highlight is the MSPT Main Event going for $1,100 between December 28 and 30. The event will have two flights and a $300,000 guarantee.
RunGood Poker Series in California
The RunGood Poker Series (RGPS) is already underway for this year’s final tournament. The event started on November 25 and continues until December.
Happening at the Thunder Valley Casino in California, the ten-event series will be highlighted by the RGPS Main Event between December 3 and 6, featuring a guarantee of $1,000,000 and a buy-in of $2,500.
WSOP in North Carolina and California
There is a WSOP Circuit stop at Harrah’s Cherokee in North Carolina. The 17-series event started on November 24 and will end on December 5. The event’s highlight comes with a $1 million guarantee and a buy-in of $1,700 between December 2 and 4.
The series will also stop in Los Angeles at the Bicycle Casino between December 3 and 14 featuring 13 events. The Main Event will happen on December 11 through 13. Unfortunately, there is no guarantee for the $1,700 WSOPPC Main Event.
PokerGO Tour
PokerGO Tour wraps the year with high-roller events. With as low as $10,000, PokerGO Tour events will occur from December 1 through 21 in Las Vegas.
WPT World Championship
All the above live poker events have a significant number of interested players. However, WPT World Championship has the most buzz. This is probably because the poker operator has talked about the event since the beginning of the year.
Starting December 1 through 19, WPT will host a series of history-making events at Wynn Las Vegas. The poker room will give over a $15,000,000 guarantee.
The World Championship tournament features multi-day matches and mixed games such as o-8, PLO, Omaha, 8-game, and HORSE. Meet-up games will also feature Phil Ivey and Doyle Brunson. You can also expect bounties events for women and seniors, and much more.
The Ladies’ Championship, the Main Event, and the Prime final tables will be filmed at the HyperX Esports Arena in Luxor, Las Vegas. The Ladies event will be streamed on December 18, Prime on the 19th, and Main Event on the 20th. The public is welcome to attend the events, though the seats are limited.
