The largest world poker event organizer has announced dates for the World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2023. They also released dates for critical events you cannot afford to miss.
The 54th edition of WSOP will return to Las Vegas on May 30 and run through July 18, 2023. The festivals will complete with the iconic $10,000 Main Event.
The Senior Vice President and Executive Director of WSOP, Ty Stewart, announced WSOP 2023 debut date during a press release on Dec 12, 2022. Ty noted that the poker operator was excited to announce the historic debut before embarking on the holiday mood.
The full schedule is not yet out. But, WSOP officials highlighted some dates of highly demanded tournaments. The officials also announced the return of timeless classics.
This includes the Main Event, $1,000 Ladies Championship, $1,000 buy-in Seniors Championship, $400 buy-in Colossus, $1,000 Mini Main Event, and $1,500 The Close, among many others. The Main Event will run between July 3 and July 18. It will feature four starting flights.
Other 2023 WSOP Events
The opening event is dubbed Mystery Millions. It will feature the Mystery Bounty format and will go for a buy-in of $1,000.
Bounties will be as low as $10,000 and up to $1 million. Meanwhile, the tournament`s winner will pocket $1 million plus bounties. The opening weekend tournament usually draws a lot of people.
For instance, over 14,100 players registered for this event in 2022. This created a prize pool of $12,500,000.
WSOP officials also unveiled two new events. The first is the Gladiators of Poker.
It will feature a buy-in of $300, the cheapest buy-in for a live bracelet tournament. The event is scheduled for June 7, with a prize pool guarantee of $3,000,000.
The second new event is the Ultra Stack, scheduled on July 11, 2023. The entry fee will be $600.
Another notable event you can expect is the Lucky 7`s. The winner is guaranteed to win $777,777, while the buy-in will be $777. There is also a $1,500 Monster Stack and $1,500 Millionaire Maker whose winner will pocket $1 million.
WSOP officials have released dates for 12 events. It might take a few weeks to release the rest. However, you can expect the full schedule for about 90 events before the end of March 2023.
WSOP 2022-2023
The 53rd WSOP edition saw almost 200,000 entrants. Over $347 million was rewarded to players in different events.
Espen Jorstad of Norway claimed the 2022 WSOP title after winning the Main Event. He pocketed $10,000,000. Notably, this was the second time the 34-year-old Norwegian player won a bracelet in 2022.
Speaking about the upcoming WSOP edition, Jason Gregorec noted that players were anticipating the event. Jason is the General Manager and SVP of Horseshoe Las Vegas and Paris.
He noted that the first WSOP event on the Las Vegas Strip was a success and that the poker room was excited to welcome back the event to Sin City. The general manager and the poker room, in general, look forward to crowning the first champion at the new Horseshoe Las Vegas.
