About One Step Closer Foundation
One Step Closer Foundation is a non-profit organization founded by Jacob Zalewski and the late Sam Simon in 2007. The organization has raised $1.5 million through poker charity events.
The March 2023 event is the first poker charity event One Step Closer Foundation will hold since 2019. Speaking about the missing years, Zalewski explained that it was hard to host events between 2019 and 2023. He also noted that it was stricter to host events since the Coronavirus pandemic.
The foundation has to be reapproved in Nevada to be able to host poker charity events again. Jacob, however, noted it was a fun experience to go through the process of getting approval from the Nevada Gambling Commission.
One Step Closer Foundation strives to help those with Cerebral Palsy. Zalewski also battles cerebral Palsy.
He noted that his foundation’s goal was to help ease the lives of those with the condition. He hopes that one day his foundation will be influential in finding a cure for Cerebral Palsy.
