Two teams that saw each other in a recent NBA Finals will be going head-to-head on Tuesday night when the Phoenix Suns host a former rival and take on the Milwaukee Bucks.
After an ironman-type season, Giannis Antetokounmpo has missed a few games in a row due to an illness, but signs point to him being able to be healthy and available for this game.
For a Phoenix Suns team that has elevated their status to a legit contender this season, this game will be nothing short of personal, as this is predominantly the same Bucks’ roster that outlasted them in the Finals two seasons ago.
What would have been amazing is if Kevin Durant would have been healthy and ready for this matchup, but that will have to wait. Either way, this has potential to be a finals preview for this season.
Both teams will be hungry for this game, and the Bucks draw the slight favorite here on the road over the Suns at -1.5.
Shaping up to be the overall favorite
After a demonstrative season by the Boston Celtics, the Milwaukee Bucks have firmly taken control of being the title favorite this season.
If you look at both rosters, the Celtics may have a slight edge as a strict 1-8 down the line, but the Bucks have the best player in the world in Giannis who we have already seen elevate his gameplay on the biggest stage.
Milwaukee is going to be a tough out, and they match up with Phoenix really well with Brook Lopez handling the interior presence of Deandre Ayton and Giannis able to feast otherwise.
All of the other players on the roster have stepped up in the absence of Giannis the last few games, so whether he plays or not will not make too much of a difference in intensity.
Coming off fresh from a battle with Golden State
The Suns have no easy games left in their schedule, it seems. After a duel with the Warriors on Monday night, they have to turn around and immediately play the Bucks on their home court.
Playing the last two champions of the NBA back-to-back must have been fun for whomever decided to shape the schedule this way.
Without Durant in the lineup, Devin Booker and Chris Paul need to take their game even further for this team in order to give themselves a chance at home court in the first round of the playoffs.
Suns @ Bucks Betting Prediction
As a star studded affair headlining the Tuesday night matchup, the Suns and Bucks will be full of intensity when they tip-off in the evening.
Both teams have dealt with a fair share of injuries this season, and will be hungry to keep their standings in their respective conferences.
It really is hard to bet against Giannis in any sort of capacity, but the Suns have played well without Kevin Durant in their lineup and should be able to close this game out. Take Phoenix to win at home at +1.5.
