The Philadelphia 76ers keep continuing to win as this team is now just three games behind the first-place Milwaukee Bucks in the Eastern Conference standings. They’re now just one game behind the second place at Boston Celtics as well.
While it didn’t seem possible for Philadelphia to end up in this spot, the Sixers have played great basketball down the stretch and deserve a ton of credit for what they’ve been able to do. If this team can continue playing this way into the playoffs, they might have a legitimate chance of winning an NBA title.
They take on a Charlotte Hornets team that has struggled for most of the season and has now lost their last three games. Let’s see if Philadelphia can continue dominating just as they have all season in this one.
Will Philadelphia Dominate?
When looking at what the Philadelphia 76ers have done this year, it’s nothing short of impressive. This team is now 7-3 in their last 10 games and has won six straight. Those six games include wins over the Milwaukee Bucks, Indiana Pacers, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Cleveland Cavaliers. They played some of the top teams in the NBA throughout that span and have found ways to win the game.
They’ve been playing elite-level basketball because of star big man Joel Embiid. When he’s at his best, Philadelphia has a legitimate argument to be the top team in the NBA. It’s still not going to be easy for them to stay healthy throughout the rest of the season as we’ve seen throughout the past few years, but if this squad does remain healthy, Joel and the Sixers could do some big things this season.
It’s all going to rely on his status and how healthy he’s going to be this postseason.
There’s a reason why Philadelphia comes into this game as 10.5-point favorites and it would make sense if this team finds a way up to win this game outright with ease.
Charlotte Could be Tanking
The Charlotte Hornets have had one of the more disappointing seasons in the NBA this year and there are a few different reasons for that.
Not only has his team not been able to win games whatsoever, but they’ve also dealt with some unfortunate injuries. If they can find a way to stay healthy in the coming years, there’s a chance that this team could be someone decent.
They’re also going to get a high draft picking this year’s NBA draft, so that’s a great time for them to capitalize. At the moment, however, this is a team that everybody should be fading as they’re struggling big time without Lamelo Ball.
Philadelphia 76ers vs. Charlotte Hornets Prediction
Due to how well the Sixers have played throughout the past few weeks and the Hornets struggling as they have since Ball went down, it makes sense to take the 76ers on the spread line at -10.5. If you don’t want to play a 10-point spread, we can even alt line this down to 8.5 or 9.5.
Philadelphia is clearly the better team here, and if they come out and do what they should do, there’s really no reason why Charlotte should even be on the same court as them.
