A prime matchup everyone has been dying to see tips off Monday night in the rematch between Joel Embiid and Nikola Jokic.
The Philadelphia 76ers will be on the road to take on the Denver Nuggets in a battle between the best two big men in the NBA and the two leading candidates for the MVP award.
In their first meeting of the season, Embiid took it personally as he dominated Jokic and the Nuggets with nearly 50 points scored in the game.
The rematch comes on the heels of Embiid talking about needing a rest day to prepare for playoffs and to avoid running too thin.
There will be no rest for this game, as all eyes will be glued to their screens on Monday when the two superstars go head-to-head with each other.
James Harden could return to action as well, which would make this a game full of some of the NBA’s best players. Currently, Denver is listed as the favorite at -5.5 over the 76ers.
A personal MVP campaign put together by Embiid
After much of the season focused on Jokic and his potential to win a third straight MVP award, Embiid took everything personally and has put together one of the most dominant stretches for a big man in the NBA.
His nightly domination of his opponents and his ability to stay healthy through the second half of the season has made it one to remember for the big man.
This is far and away the best team Embiid has played on in his entire career, and he continues to prove his worth no matter the opponent.
One more dominant showing against Jokic will likely earn him a well-deserved day of rest.
Hanging on to the number one seed in the Western Conference
The Nuggets may have missed out on the number one overall seed to the Milwaukee Bucks, but there is still time to make a run to close the year.
A win here on their home court could keep them alive and moving toward Milwaukee for the top spot, but it seems unlikely at this point of the season.
Their production has fallen off a bit as the season has worn on, while Michael Porter Jr. and Jamal Murray are as streaky as ever.
Still, they are one of the top five teams in the league and will continue to fight near the top.
76ers @ Nuggets betting prediction
With this being one of the most anticipated games all season, it is difficult to pick either team to be a guaranteed win over the other.
Expect monster performances from the two superstars Embiid and Jokic, and be on the lookout for Embiid to try and put in another 50-point performance for the season.
With both teams evenly matched, take the 76ers at +5.5 to complete the series sweep on the road.
