The New York Knicks and the Cleveland Cavaliers might be playing the best playoff series that we’ve seen in quite some time. Although the games haven’t necessarily been competitive outside of the first game of the series, these two teams continue to go back and forth, and it’s making for an exciting contest for NBA fans around the world.
The Knicks currently hold a 2-1 lead, and Game 4 will be played at Madison Square Garden. This is the perfect opportunity for them to get a huge series lead as they would only need to win one more game after this to win the series.
While this could be one of those series that goes back and forth, the Cavaliers have shown throughout the first three games that they might not be playing as well as the Knicks are at the moment.
The sportsbooks believe that the Knicks could come away with this one as they come in as -2.5 favorites and -140 on the moneyline.
Knicks Could Take a Commanding Lead
Considering that many believed that the Cleveland Cavaliers were going to win this series, what the New York Knicks have done has been nothing short of impressive.
They came out in Game 1 in Cleveland and showed why they have the firepower to beat anybody on any given night. Jalen Brunson, Julius Randle, and others all performed at a high level in that game as the Knicks came away with a 4-point win.
They’ve done a decent job on Donovan Mitchell so far, despite him having games with 30-plus points. If they can find a way to continue not letting him take over the game, New York will continue finding themselves in a very good position throughout this series.
The other factor here for New York is that they’re getting production out of some of their role players and guys that aren’t named Julius Randle and Jalen Brunson. Julius Randle had just 11 points in their Game 3 win, but RJ Barrett took over the first quarter when the Knicks were struggling to score.
Must Win Game for Cleveland
Every playoff game is a must-win, but this one for the Cleveland Cavaliers is going to be the biggest of the series. They can either potentially lose the series in this game, or they can flip the entire way the rest of the series plays out.
Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland are going to need to do what they do best, and that’s putting the ball in the basket at an elite level. Darius Garland has had a somewhat quiet first few games, and that simply can’t be the case if they want to win this series.
Madison Square Garden is going to be rocking for the Knicks once again on Sunday afternoon, so expect the Cavaliers to either figure this thing out or play similarly to how they did on Friday.
New York Knicks vs. Cleveland Cavaliers Betting Prediction
Due to this game being played at home and the way that the Knicks are playing, taking them on the moneyline doesn’t seem to be a bad idea here. You don’t have to play much juice as they’re currently -140, and you also don’t have to worry about potentially getting beat by the spread.
