As all of the series begin to unfold in the second-round of the NBA playoffs, the Knicks and the Heat will look to square off on Monday night for the fourth game of their series.
While the first two games of the series were highly competitive and close, game three saw the Miami Heat jump ahead early in the contest and hold on for the entire game.
It was a master class by Jimmy Butler and the Heat, and by the end of the game the Heat were playing with their food a bit as the expression goes.
For the sake of the Knicks, game three should have been more of a wake-up call, because losing in game four would put their backs against the wall in a big way.
There would be almost no hope left to try and win three out of four games, so this is a must win situation for everyone on the Knicks.
Ahead of the action on Monday night, the Heat find themselves as favorites on their home court over the Knicks at -4.5.
Time to ignite their offense in the half-court
While fast break points have been few and far between, the Knicks have spent most of the first couple of games of this series taking turns on offense.
That has made life easy for some of the older players on Miami. Don’t get it twisted, just because they are older doesn’t mean they can’t defend, but they certainly haven’t had to move around so much.
The two teams actually match up better with each other than it looked on paper, but their has to be a little bit more urgency with the Knicks in the half-court and from their bench.
A masterclass of a postseason by Jimmy Butler
After sitting out of game two due to his rolled ankle, Butler returned to action for game three and was sensational from the start of the game.
His presence and his impact was immediately felt, and it made for easy offense for the Heat, who actually managed to do well without him in the second game of this series.
With the way he is able to penetrate in the paint and draw defenders to him, Butler can easily find the open man without even blinking.
The Heat are one of the teams that will smell blood in the water when they have the advantage.
Knicks @ Heat Betting Prediction
All of the different series in the NBA Playoffs seem to be going down to the wire, but this is one of the only ones where the Heat feel like they have a significant advantage in momentum.
The Knicks and the Heat rivalry goes back for decades, and both franchises would love nothing more than to eliminate the other.
Jimmy Butler is a different man in the playoffs, and that has clearly shown in the first two rounds. He will carry his team to another victory so take the Heat at -4.5 in this game.
